ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE SECRETARIAT OF CULTURE APPLY TO THE TREASURES OF LIVING HUMANS IN CAMPECHE

• They seek to spread the labor of the guardians of the intangible cultural heritage

With the aim of locating and recognizing the cultural identity practices of the Campeche communities and preserving the living heritage that makes the knowledge they keep visible, the Executive Power of the State of Campeche through its Secretariat of Culture (SECULT) and with the support of the Secretariat of Culture of the Government of Mexico; summons the population of all communities and localities throughout the state territory, to register people worthy of being recognized as Living Human Treasures (THV) 2020 by virtue of being carriers of intangible cultural heritage, in addition to standing out for their contribution and commitment community by maintaining current cultural practices and expressions.
The call is launched with the aim of strengthening these expressions among the new generations. In it, groups, collectives, stewardships, brotherhoods, councils of elders, civil society organizations or organized communities that identify and nominate people who consider a Living Human Treasure in their region, who are at least 70 years old, can apply for candidatures and are of Mexican nationality.
Likewise, the trajectory of the nominated person must be endorsed by their community for the purpose of applying for or applying for such recognition, and must arise from the agreement and consensus of the members of the entity from which the proposal originates.
In this way, three recognitions will be delivered, consisting of a unique stimulus for each of the THVs for $ 60,000.00 (sixty thousand pesos MXN), an incentive granted by the Secretariat of Culture of Campeche, through the Support for Culture Program in its aspect of Support for State Cultural Institutions (AIEC) belonging to the Secretariat of Culture of the Government of Mexico.
In addition, the creditors of this recognition will carry out a project with an operating resource of $ 37,000.00 (thirty-seven thousand pesos MXN) that could be made up of workshops, talks, meetings, among others; in which the knowledge is shared with the younger generations in their community environment.
The applications will be evaluated by a qualifying jury designated for this purpose with experience in the issues of intangible cultural heritage; considering criteria such as its value in the living testimony of human heritage, the roots in the cultural and social traditions of the State, its representative character of community or a specific group or that its knowledge is at risk of disappearing.
Applications must be submitted to the Undersecretary of Cultural Heritage at Calle 18 S / N between 45 and 47 in the Guadalupe neighborhood, C.P. 24010, in the city of San Francisco de Campeche, Campeche, or sent to the mail: [email protected]
The registration period will be from July 31 to October 23, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. The results will be published on the page www.culturacampeche.com no later than October 31 of this.
