The Castelmar Hotel

It is located in the first frame of the city of San Francisco de Campeche within the Historic walled city, in a building dating from the year 1800, at the beginning it was a General Headquarters and later it was converted into a hotel providing the service for almost a century.


In 2004, the new owners began a total renovation, while respecting the original architecture, floors, ceilings, patio, corridors and colonial decoration, without neglecting current comforts.

Rooms decorated in a colonial style feature original mosaic floors, high wood-beamed ceilings, and our excellent location.

Due to the COVID19 situation and safeguarding the health and integrity of our work team, our Hotel closed their doors from March 28 to June 15, respecting the established quarantine. It was not easy at all to make the decision about maintaining wages and benefits, although the situation was not easy.


Despite having the establishment closed, it was kept in constant maintenance since, being an old building, leaving it unguarded would lead to rapid deterioration. In the same way, we were working on the measures required by the new normativity,as well training and certification in cleaning programs.


A protocol was implemented to follow, our staff constantly prepared to be able to adapt, protective equipment was given to each one. The decoration was renewed with signs so that our guests can remember the important health protocols, cleaning stations in key points, constant sanitation and disinfection programs, Ozone Biogenerators and removal of easily accessible decorative items.


As of June 15, we reopen to the public again, taking all necessary measures, complying with the protocols that require us, staying to each change and learning to live in a new way.


We have always worked with enthusiasm and the best customer service attitude, which has distinguished us. Our priority is that you feel at home and confident that we maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout your arrival.


The hotel sector is the most affected by this pandemic and it is not easy at all, but we know that working with a lot of attitude, enthusiasm and in a positive way with all the care without lowering the implemented quality and hygiene standards we can achieve progress.
