As a doctor attached to the Emergency Department of the General Hospital of Specialties «Dr. Javier Buenfil Osorio ”, Dr. Luis dedicates his life to the health care of the population that needs it, today in the face of the health emergency due to COVID-19, it is his turn to be a positive patient for this disease, successfully achieving one more battle in preserve health.

His case is special, since due to the critical condition in which he was admitted and the timely attention of the multidisciplinary team, a further complication was avoided, and with it mechanical ventilation.

In this way, with an emotional farewell and with the ringing of the bell in the company of his work colleagues and family, Dr. Luis left the Hospital after 18 days of respiratory complications and today he will conclude his recovery from home.

After admission on June 13, Dr. Luis started with respiratory distress, decreased and presented severity with very low saturations of less than 90 percent, which required multidisciplinary care and treatment by the Emergency Department, Internal Medicine. and Intensive Care.

The director of the Hospital, Eduardo Gabriel R. de la Gala Guerrero reported that to stabilize the patient, he was given support with oxygenation and various specialized drugs for treatment by Covid and anticoagulant medications, he was also administered oxygen with a reservoir mask and with a supplement of Noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

He added that medications were required to overcome the serious condition and decrease stress due to the condition and with this, he gradually recovered respiratory function.

“Currently, he is kept low on oxygen, he breathes better, our partner communicates better, he is kept conscious, and for this reason he returns home today with telephone follow-up from the Internal Medicine department, which is in charge of monitoring in a personalized way to patients who are discharged from the hospital, ”said R. de la Gala Guerrero.
