After jointly reviewing with his cabinet secretaries, state delegates and representatives of the armed forces, the aid provided to the victims of the tropical storm Cristóbal, Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González asked to start with the integration of the technical files of the damaged infrastructure.

Aysa González chaired this Sunday the session of the State Council for Civil Protection, in which the evaluation of damages was continued and the recovery work started in the 11 municipalities was reported.

During the meeting, the governor recognized the work that the state and federal authorities carry out to help the population.

«The entire team has been deployed throughout state territory with the purpose of procuring support for families and for them to return home soon,» he stressed.

He indicated that while the aid continues to be provided to the affected population, the public authorities must quantify the damage to start reconstruction soon. «I have contacted the Secretary of the Interior and the director general of Conagua, and they have expressed all the support of the federal government to solve the problems caused by the tropical storm,» he added.

He commented that the DIF System will bring affected families more food and groceries, starting Monday morning in Hopelchén; Wednesday in Hecelchakán and Friday in Aguacatal; The next week will be Calakmul, Calkiní, Tenabo, Candelaria and Palizada, and the following week, Escárcega and Champotón.

The Secretary of Civil Protection, Edgar Hernández Hernández, commented that there are no reports of significant incidents to those already presented and that work is being done on the evacuation of water in homes so that families return to their homes. In addition, he added that permanent surveillance is maintained in the communities by stormwater runoff.

Regarding the temporary shelters, he commented that 46 are still open, where 1,474 people are housed. The sites are operating in the municipalities of Calkiní, Campeche, Carmen, Champotón, Calakmul and Hopelchén, the latter with the highest number, accounting for 15 spaces with 526 people protected.

The director general of the SCT Campeche Center, Armando Araiza Armenta, reported that the circulation of vehicles on the federal highway free of tolls and quotas is practically total, with the exception of the section located at kilometer 90 of the highway to Hopelchén, where only allows transit to cargo trucks, starting at three tons, but not to small vehicles.

As for kilometer 194 of Villahermosa-Escárcega, yesterday the passage through the center of the road was allowed, and at night, when the water had already descended, the two lanes were opened; On the Escárcega-Chetumal highway at km 111 there is one-way traffic, and on the Ciudad del Carmen-Sabancuy highway, rock-filling works are carried out because the water continues to erode the asphalt folder, but vehicles are allowed to pass through.

He added that they support the placement of provisional steps to allow traffic in some sections of the feeder highway network, such as in the Centenario-López Portillo, Machetazo-Cuauhtémoc and Xpujil-Dzibalchén.

As for the operations to evict water in flooded areas, the delegate of the National Water Commission (Conagua), Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Todd, mentioned that in Escárcega the work has already been completed and now the brigade will go to the Aguacatal community to reinforce actions. The work continues in Pueblo Nuevo and Los Laureles, Campeche municipality, and in Vicente Guerrero, Suc-Tuc and Santa Rita, in Hopelchén.

Each of the state secretaries sent to the municipalities to assess the damages and bring support to the victims such as food, water, mats and blankets, presented their respective reports to the governor. Likewise, the commanders of the Third Naval Region, Octavo Trejo Hermida, and of the 33rd Military Zone, Enrique Dena Salgado, as well as the representative of the National Guard explained the relief efforts to the population that they coordinate with the state authorities. .

At the meeting, the president instructed the secretary of Social and Human Development, Christian Castro Bello, so that – in addition to being his representative in Escárcega – the support tasks coordinated by the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Forecast (STyPS), Laura Luna García, since that region is the most affected by the rains. As part of the measures being carried out to help the communities that remain flooded and incommunicado, more equipment and pantries are being sent.

In his opportunity, the Secretary of Health, José Luis González Pinzón, recommended that; the staff of the agencies that work in the actions of cleaning, food distribution and waste management, rigorously implement sanitary measures, follow the recommendations to use mouthguards and gel, and keep the distance.
